Although bamboo is technically a grass, it is classified as a timber flooring product, yet significantly outperforms traditional timbers in terms of its durability and price.
Why Bamboo?
Aesthetically Bamboo is becoming popular with architects, interior designers and homeowners because it has unique textures and colours.
Technically it’s popularity is due to the manufacturing process which ensures that bamboo is one of the hardest natural flooring products available on the market. The bamboo fibres are compressed under immense pressure and then coated with up to 10 coats of an extremely resilient and hard wearing Polyurethane coating which is then UV cured. These processes give the boards amazing stamina for commercial and high activity areas.

Wear Layer & Durability – The surface features a strand-woven bamboo wear layer – renowned for its hardness (approx. 15kN on the Janka scale) – delivering excellent wear resistance and making it suitable for high-use residential areas.
Finish & Look – VerduraX comes pre-finished with an 8-layer Klumpp water-based matte coating for a natural look and lasting protection. The micro-bevelled edges and smooth surface deliver a contemporary, refined appearance.
Environmental & Health Credentials – Manufactured from environmentally certified bamboo and compliant with strict VOC (E1) emissions standards, VerduraX supports healthy indoor living and sustainable practices throughout the supply chain.
Installation Method – Designed for ease, VerduraX features a patented Unilin Click system for floating installations. It must be installed over a flat, dry substrate with a suitable underlay including a >75 SD moisture barrier. It is also suitable for installation over in-slab hydronic heating systems.
Maintenance – The hard-wearing surface requires minimal maintenance. The wear layer can also be refurbished and rejuvenated if required, extending the life of the floor.
